Sweet Nothings

For you, Chase Husky, my sweet love.

Smolder

We may move quickly and burn bright,

but our love’s embers smolder deeply too,

Into each other’s dark places, shining light.

Love’s flames eternal for me and you.

Truth

Sometimes good things hurt a little

Sometimes love can be so fickle

Sometimes we'll be in quite a pickle

But .. it's fine, I've got you.

The Meaning of Life, an Interpretation

The small "L" is used to show that all forms of love are being indicated, not just the big "Love", but the love of family, friendship, of bonds made over years and bonds made over moments, all love. No punctuation is present as well, indicating that the meaning, and indeed the love itself, has no set form, meter, beginning, or end. It is simply pure, unbridled, raw emotion, the most kind and selfless emotion one can have, the truest desire to give without thought for oneself, love.

Nothing

Whispered nothings softly spoken

Though barely there do offer token

that two new and tender hearts entwine

A breeze of words, breath softly blown

Yet their effect so plainly shown

In such light and gentle eyes as thine

With tender grasp, hold me to you

And become one out of two

Now nothing else just you and I

I'll be yours and you be mine

-Hunter Fox

Triage

Ouch! The pain, small but searing, a surprise.

Ahh .. soft touch, a kiss, and even softer eyes.

-Hunter Fox

Conditional Bravery

With you in hand in arms in heart,

No challenge can my heart give start

-Hunter Fox

No Mountain

Oceans broad and deep to deserts hot and dry

Together we can conquer, joined, you and I.

-Hunter Fox

Melt Away

A long day ends

As many have before

Shoulders aching

My back again is sore

Though with a smile

I now approach the door

For sure I know

What kindness is in store

You kiss and hug

Soft lips, I sneak one more

Sweet loving boy

You're all that I adore.

-Hunter Fox

Poetic Drought

My mind, a dry day

No such day exists for you,

My heart always blooms

-Hunter Fox

Travel

Red eyes, dry and tired

Which city is this, which airport?

I'll see you soon, babe.

-Hunter Fox

Poetic Draught

Three claws of the beast

The words deep inside, unleashed

I'm such a damn Kyle

-Hunter Fox

Untitled

The privilege of holding you

Safe in loving arms

Is one that I am blessed to have

One of many blessings

Given me by you, sweet boy

Oh, how am I deserving

Of your love as great as stars

As skies, all heavenly bodies

And greater still!

For I am just a man

The luckiest alive

-Hunter Fox

Untitled 2

I gently squeeze your paw

You turn, curious and I

Smile, silent a while then

"Nothing" ... "I love you"

You scoff but smile too

"I love you too"

That sly twinkle

Flashing in your hazel eyes

Like so many

Mischievous stars

I would love to visit

Each and every one

If only we had the time

But every one is enough

I need nothing besides you,

my love.

-Hunter Fox

No Regrets

If I had only known

What fate was waiting here

Before o'er seas I'd flown

To hold you close, my dear

If I had only known

What fine shock was in store

That as my courage shown

You'd only love me more

If I had only known

After our Winter cometh Spring

If I had known these truths, my love

I wouldn't change a thing

85%

School, my life wasted

Haiku, useless information

The bell sets me free

-Hunter Fox

Story: My mother has never been a fan of poetry and, while she has always been supportive of my poetic endeavors, she often regales me with tales of her sleeping through Shakespeare or having written snarky anti-poetry poems to secure marks during poetry modules in school while simultaneously voicing her objections through the verse she so reluctantly wrote. With one such story for inspiration, I decided to write this "haiku". It is written from the point of view of the disgruntled student. Said student has received only an 85% because the second line exceeds the syllable count for a haiku. xD

Scents and Memories

The wind blows through my fur

and the open window

through which I stare

at the gate long left unopened.

Soft breezes so gently

pulling from the sheets

the subtle scent of you,

stirring warm memories

from hiberation slumber.

Momories revied and dreams

yet to be had and felt and seen

but someday all these things shall be.

Fresh memories made and

your scent again left behind

in my coat and clothes and bed

but this time in permanence.
